Kailin Gow is a multi-award-winning author of over 300 books for Middle Grade (like Harry Potter!), YA (like Twilight, Hunger Games, and If I Stay), New Adult/College Romances, Steamy Thrillers, and Non-fiction travel/career/self-help books. One of the most successful 100% pure indie authors, she has sold over 5.5 million books, had her books adapted into films and tv series, as well as video games, and has won multiple prestigious literary awards including the ALA YALSA Reader's Choice Award. Amazon execs have called her an "influencing author" and have said she helped elevate the quality and class of indie books to mainstream traditional level. She writes a variety of genres since she has a wide range of interests and experiences. Having personally overcome health and social issues, she writes books featuring strong female leads. As an indie publishing early pioneer (she self-published her fantasy middle grade books in 2001) to being one of the first indie authors to crack a million books sold, she has been featured as a successful author on Amazon.com's homepage, noted by Huffington Post as an author who has successfully balanced a writing life with parenting and also a personal life, and was featured in the largest Chinese-language newspaper outside of Asia as an author phenomenon. She is based in the Southwest U.S. but has traveled to over 30 countries.
Before she became a full-time author, Kailin Gow worked as a corporate executive or upper management for Fortune 100 corporations in hospitality (hotels and travel online companies), fashion and retail (Top Brands in Fashion and Retail), internet startups, electronics and technology, and entertainment (Walt Disney Company, Cable television). She has a Masters in Communications Management from USC's Annenberg School, as well as Bachelors in Social Ecology and Drama from UC Irvine.
She has been active in charities as a public figure since 2001 with her first books published following 9/11 where she donated most of her proceeds to the American Red Cross.
She has been active in the community as a community representative for community affairs in Dallas when she lived there as well as Orange County, California when she was a student leader in college.
She is also an award-winning filmmaker, producer, director, screenwriter, and actress, winning awards for her films, SMALL (2017) and THE RED QUEEN OF BITTER FROST (2017).
