I celebrated New Year's Eve with my family riding roller coasters and having warm funnel cakes!  The best way to bring in the New Year is to try something new so I rode a roller coaster I haven't been on before!  
2018 was a year I tried many new things, which has helped me grow as a person and professionally.  I decided to enter my films into film festivals first rather than put them out for distribution immediately as I have done in the past.  After winning 25 film festival awards and 47 official selections/nominations; it has proven my films/tv shows are award-winning and top-notched.  I wouldn't put out anything that is less than award-winning.  

I also created an imprint for my romantic comedies and also steamier romances, which was a hilarious success since it fell into popular culture status.  The books in this imprint which I wrote were written under a pen name as well.

In 2018, my publishing and production company began Sparklesoup STEM, which publishes and produce STEM books and shows for children through teens.  Our books were featured at the OC Children's Book Festival, Boys and Girls Club, and now will be part of Read Across America in U.S. Schools.  

Looking forward to 2019!  Bigger things are coming!  Including the premiere of the Live Stage performance of The Summer Pact, which is a Loving Summer Novel.  Possible early release of the Bitter Frost Film (???).  More book series.  More books!

I've always dream big even when some people have tried to make me feel small.  Fortunately, my dreams are not just mine, but the dreams of other people.  My success reflects the success of all the indies, all the women pioneers, all the Asian Americans with the dream of pursuing a better life in America, all the mothers/daughters/sisters/wives who have dreamed of making a career out of their own ideas and hard work, and all those founders/innovators who have come across naysayers and obstacles in their pursuit to change the world.

Happy to announce we will be going to Cannes to see our films screen as part of the Film Festival's selection!!!!

Going to Cannes as filmmakers is a dream come true.  In a little less than one year since entering the film festival circuit for our films and tv series;  we've won 25 film awards and received over 47 nominations including the Cannes. 

I'm especially happy that the films are ones where I had the chance to work with my 12-year-old daughter, who wants to be a filmmaker. 

And as always these are films with positive messages and stories. 

I was so busy last year and all this year with writing and producing, not to mention acting and hosting that I found out that I am now classified as a bonafide "celebrity" and commands the rate of one for my appearances.  It is funny how one find out about this.  Probably because I work in a private and solitude environment when I write my books or within a tight knit production with a few or known cast and crew when I film, I am not aware of the public reach that I or my work has.  I am, however, delighted and surprised when someone does stop and ask to take a photo with them when I am out in public.  Or when I find out that the nieces of a bunch of people at my high school reunion are major fans or it happened to be there are mommy fans of my romances who happen to be parents of the same private school my daughter just started going to, or even when I was at a fantasy convention, and lots of people came up and said they have at least one series of mine...  These are things I don't usually expect when I am out in public just doing my ordinary daily things.  But I am so fortunate and blessed to experience this and am grateful to all who do approach me to tell me how much they love my work, what I stand for, and how much I inspired them.

While I am best known for being a million+-selling author and digital book publishing pioneer;  my speeches are based on my other occupations as a producer, executive, entrepreneur, journalist, and more.  Living a full and active life in the community, at church, with world leaders and organizations, with friends and family is why I have a wealth of real life experiences and information to speak about.  That's also why I have written and is knowledgeable about many topics in many genres as an author.

Here's a snapshot of my speaking engagement booker. Because Teens and Tweens are in tune with the pop culture and trends of their world, it is important to include them if you write books for tweens and teens.  Having been active in Schools as a Parent and also as a Community Leader, it was instinctual for me to always include actual tweens and teens in my board and research panels.
